The distinctive style consists of dark color tones on the toe, heel cap and at times, the lace portion of the shoe. The most popular color combinations used were black, brown or tan over a white shoe body.
The shoe was originally made of willow calf leather and white buck or reverse calf suede. It was also constructed of mesh or canvas. Those constructed of mesh material were often used to provide ventilation during hot seasons making the shoe not only stylish but functional. A spectator indeed cause the world was certainly watching!
